In Loving Memory of My Husband

John Titus

February 13, 1962 – April 24, 2015

John was not only my husband for 28 years; he was my best friend, my partner, my confidant, and the love of my life. We shared a life that was built on love, family, faith, and our commitment to the Lord.

John and Dennis jointly owned Dennis Blackwell Bail Bonds in Colorado Springs until Homer Blackwell passed away on January 30, 2014. John then joined me in Pueblo, where we continued with Blackwell Bail Bonds. Through our work and throughout our lives, John and I were given many opportunities to help people, encourage them, and serve others.

But beyond our work, one of the greatest blessings of our marriage was being able to serve the Lord together.

Our faith was not simply something we practiced on Sundays. It was part of who we were. We tried to live our lives in a way that honored God, whether we were at church, working, helping someone in need, or simply going about our everyday lives. John had a heart for people, and together we experienced the joy of knowing that God could use us to make a difference in someone else's life.

John taught me so much during our nearly 30 years together. Most importantly, he taught me what unconditional love truly means. He loved me through every season of our lives. He stood beside me, encouraged me, prayed with me, and shared the joys and hardships that life brought our way.

After raising our children, the Lord blessed us with precious years together that I will treasure for the rest of my life. We had time to enjoy one another, grow in our faith, and serve the Lord side by side. Those memories are gifts from God that I will carry with me always.

There is a tremendous emptiness in my heart since John went home to be with the Lord. I miss him more than words could ever express. I miss his voice, his smile, his presence, and simply knowing that he was there beside me.But I know that John is with the Lord, and that gives me comfort.

Although my heart is broken, I know God has not left me. The Lord we served together is still holding me today. I don't understand every part of His plan, but I choose to trust Him.

I also know that my journey is not over.

I made a commitment to the Lord that I will continue to put Him first in my life. I will continue to serve Him, love others, encourage those who are hurting, and look for every opportunity to be a blessing to someone else. John and I spent our lives believing that God had a purpose for us, and I want to honor John's memory by continuing to live out that purpose.

John, thank you for 28 beautiful years of marriage. Thank you for loving me so deeply. Thank you for teaching me about unconditional love, faith, forgiveness, and perseverance. Thank you for the life we shared, the family we built, the memories we made, and the many ways we were able to serve the Lord together.

HOMER L. BLACKWELL JR.

May 18, 1945 – January 30, 2014

Dad, you taught me to live life “My Way.” You lived your life with strength, determination, and purpose, and you were a true role model to me.

You taught me the importance of integrity, honesty, hard work, and perseverance. You always encouraged me to believe in myself, follow my dreams, and never give up, no matter how difficult the road became.

So much of who I am today is because of the lessons you taught me and the example you set. Your strength and wisdom continue to guide me every day.

I love you, Dad, and I miss you more than words can say.

DIANE K. BLACKWELL

January 7, 1947 – May 21, 2010

Mom, you were an extraordinary woman—a loving, compassionate, and God-fearingmother who taught me some of life's most important lessons.

You taught me to love unconditionally, have compassion for others, forgive, and never judge someone by their circumstances. Your kindness and caring heart touchedso many lives, and your influence reached far beyond our family.

You left a lasting impression not only on me, but on the many people whose lives you touched through these doors. The love and compassion you showed others will always be a part of your legacy.

Mom, I love you and miss you more than words can express.

I will continue to honor both of you by living according to the values you instilled in me. Iwill carry your lessons, your love, your faith, and your memories with me every day. I will continue to put the Lord first, serve others, walk with integrity, and never give up on the dreams you taught me to believe in.

Thank you both for shaping the person I am today. Your love and legacy will live on through me forever.
